The Spartans swam to first place in nine of 12 events to knock out the Knights in girls swimming and diving early last week at the Bainbridge Aquatics Center.

Bainbridge finished with 122 points, while Kamiak tallied 64.

The Spartans dominated in the 100-yard backstroke, and claim first, second and third place.

Allison Murphy was first with a time of 1:02.67.

Teammate Ana Bucy was second (1:04.49), and McKenzie Bell placed third (1:08.19).

Bainbridge also went one-two in the 50-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.

In the 500, Carina Laukaitis was first for BHS in 5:29.21.

Mikelle Ackerley claimed second place with a finish of 5:31.84.

In the 50 free, Sam Caro was first in 26.44, edging teammate Ani Duni, who finished in 26.56.

The Spartans also excelled in the 200-yard medley relay.

The A Relay team of Murphy, Duni, Natalie Ackerley and Amanda Comeau won the race in 1:57.28.

The Spartans also couldn’t be stopped in the freestyle relays.

The foursome of Ackerley, Comeau, Caro and Duni won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:46.81.

Mikelle Ackerley, Natalie Ackerley, Caro and Allison Murphy also swam to first in the 400-yard freestyle race with a time of 3:53.96.

Bainbridge also won in diving and the 200-yard freestyle.

In the 200 free, Caro finished first in 2:05.42.

In 1-meter diving, Zora Opalka took first with 212.35 points.

Kamiak’s Talor Bohot was second (191.30 points), and the Spartans nabbed third and fourth place thanks to Cammie Rouser (190.90) and Brit Hepworth (173.40).

Comeau also placed first in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.16.
