BAINBRIDGE – The first loss at home in nearly eight years was dealt the Spartan girls varsity golf team Monday by just one stroke courtesy of the visitors from Holy Names Academy.

The final score saw the Bainbridge High team on the short end of a 114-113 match.

“Great match,” said Spartan Head Coach Ian Havill.

“Kiera [Havill] had three birdies, keeping up with their top player who also shot 38. [It was the] first home loss in seven years, but we played great — their top four played one shot better.”

Kiera Havill, a senior and co-captain, was the medalist of the match with a score of 38 on the Par 35 course.

Fellow senior captain Taylor Tye shot 45, as did sophomore Lucy Hanacek.

Kendall Havill, a freshman, shot 47 and junior Sara Colley notched 48.

Maddie Loverich and Nicole Daniels both shot 51, Caitlin Slattery managed 57.

It was the first loss of the year for the BHS girls team, and left them with a 2-1 overall season record.
