EC comes back against Spartans

Eastside Catholic escaped from Paski Gymnasium Wednesday with a hard-fought victory over the Bainbridge Spartans in girls varsity volleyball.

BAINBRIDGE – Eastside Catholic escaped from Paski Gymnasium Wednesday with a hard-fought victory over the Bainbridge Spartans in girls varsity volleyball.

The Spartans won the first game, 25-18, then came up short in the second, 25-14, before rebounding in the third, 25-19.

The Crusaders, though, eked out a 26-24 victory in the fourth. Eastside Catholic followed up with a runaway 15-10 win in the fifth game to finish in front, 3-2.

The loss dropped the Spartans to 1-1 in conference play (4-1 overall).

Bainbridge will next play on the road Monday, in Seattle against Lakeside (2-0, 4-0), before returning home to square off against Bishop Blanchet (0-2, 2-4)on Wednesday.
