Bainbridge Island announced Friday that its annual pavement marking maintenance efforts will kick off on Monday, Aug. 12.

Crews will paint center and edge lines on more than 80 miles of island roadway, and the work is expected to wrap up in late September.

Traffic control will be used with rolling work zones, and cones will be used to alert drivers to wet paint lines.

In work zone areas, drivers can expect reduced traffic speeds, usually less than 15 miles per hour, and temporary delays at intersections.

Officials said drivers should be cautious and allow adequate distance from the paint truck and traffic control vehicles to avoid driving over paint lines.

Traffic notifications can be found on the city’s website at www.bainbridgewa.gov.
