Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

MONDAY, SEPT. 28

10:49 a.m. A Bainbridge Island man said his bicycle was stolen.

The bike was locked to an eyebolt on the north wall of a carport of an apartment building on Camelia Loop NE. Someone cut a cable lock and took the bike, a Kona mountain bike valued at $1,500.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 27

2:45 p.m. A Bainbridge resident reported the theft of a Rincon Giant bike valued at $500. The bike was stolen from Parfitt Way while the owner was out of town. Several other bikes were also taken.

Police were told the Winslow Wharf Marina had video of the crime being committed.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 25

1:12 p.m. A 47-year-old Bainbridge man said he parked his boat on Sept. 1 at the Winslow Wharf Marina and when he returned he found things were missing, including two downriggers that had been on the stern.

They were described as Scotty 1106 downriggers and were valued at $500 each.

3:29 p.m. A 36-year-old Bainbridge Island man said he was in New Orleans on business when he started getting phone calls about a new iPhone 6 that was for sale on craigslist.

Someone used his name and his cell phone number in the ad and the victim said he had been receiving many, many calls about the phone.

He said it upset his sleep and rest and he wanted police to get a subpoena to find out who placed the ad.

An officer told the man, due to the nature of the incident, it was doubtful the prosecutor’s office would be willing to spend the time and money to pursue a subpoena from a judge.

Police asked if anyone was upset with him or if a friend was playing a joke on him and the man said no.

9:20 p.m. An employee at the Bainbridge Safeway said two men walked off with four cases of beer without paying.

The men were only in the store for two minutes. They walked in separately through the north doors of the store and went straight to the rear of the store, picked up four cases of what appeared to be IPA of some sort, then left together out the doors they had entered.

An employee saw them leave and then walk behind the Rite Aid.

The men were described as scruffy looking in their 20s or 30s. Both were wearing ball caps, and one had flip flops on.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 24

10:06 a.m. A 21-year-old Bainbridge woman in a 2004 Jeep Wrangler was driving north on Highway 305 when she crashed into a 2009 Toyota Corolla in front of her.

The Toyota, driven by a 28-year-old Bainbridge man, had been stopped for traffic.

The woman said she was looking down and not at the roadway.

The Toyota was pushed into the car in front of it, a 2002 Subaru with a 44-year-old Bainbridge woman behind the wheel.

Both the 28-year-old and the 21-year-old were cited for following too closely.
