Stargazers seek out Active Galactic Nuclei at next planetarium show

The Battle Point Astronomical Association will present the planetarium show “Active Galactic Nuclei: Quasars & Blazars & Seyferts, Oh My!” at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory at Battle Point Park.

Join chief scientist Steve Ruhl for a look at Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) — some of the brightest and most dynamic objects in the universe.

If the sky is clear, astronomers will be on hand with telescopes.

BPAstro Kids will join Dr. Erica Saint Clair and host an Insect Invasion from 4 to 6 p.m.

The planetarium show is free to members of the BPAA; a $2 donation is suggested for nonmembers, $5 for families.

The BPAA is a nonprofit amateur astronomy organization that operates the Ritchie Observatory and John H. Rudolph Planetarium in the Helix House at Battle Point Park.
