Ritchie Observatory hosts the planetarium show “Journey to the Center of the Milky Way” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

Astronomer Dave Fong will lead a star tour that follows a galactic spiral arm all the way down to the mysterious center. Along the way, the tour will visit alien planets, baby stars, cosmic clouds and dying stars.

If the sky is clear, astronomers will be on hand with telescopes for a close look at the delights of the sky.

The show is free to members; $2 donation suggested for nonmembers, $5 for families. The show is presented by the Battle Point Astronomical Association, a nonprofit amateur astronomy organization that operates the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory and John H. Rudolph Planetarium in the Helix House at Battle Point Park.
