Spoiled and bored kids on island | Letter to the editor

Last week we had the metal cart with inflatable wheels we used to haul our garbage cans to the street vandalized and stolen.

Whomever did it ripped the sides and front grates off, left them next to our garbage can and took the cart.

Just today our neighbor found it while walking his dog. It was about 100 yards from our house in the ditch.

I’m assuming this was some neighborhood kids who decided it might be fun to take a joy ride on the cart, got bored and dumped it.

You may have seen the carts at Ace. They are well over $100 and with a bad lower back and an arthritic knee it made it a lot easier to do that chore.

Assuming it was kids, and if it wasn’t it’s even more alarming, are you so spoiled and bored that it’s easy to just blow off the fact that you’re vandals and thieves? Or maybe this is just the world we live in today. Either way it’s pretty damn sad.
