Taylor raises her own bar

Bainbridge High’s Annie Taylor placed 110th in the Girls 3A cross-country state meet last Saturday at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. Taylor’s time was 21 minutes and 33 seconds in a race won by Andrea Nelson of Shadle Park in 18:25.

“We are very proud of Annie’s achievements this fall,” said Anne Howard Lindquist, the BHS head coach. “Annie ran an evenly-paced race on a rare off day for her.” Howard Lindquist said Taylor raised her personal competition level “tremendously” this season.

Taylor advanced to the state meet by placing 19th in the district meet and ninth in the Metro League Championship. The stated team champions were Mercer Island for girls and North Central of Spokane for boys. Seattle Prep, the Metro League’s championship team, placed second in both competitions.
