SEATTLE – Bainbridge was unable to unseat the O’Dea baseball dynasty Thursday night at Steve Cox Memorial Park, and the Spartans were defeated 5-2 in the final round of the Metro League playoffs by the defending champions.

The loss broke the Spartans’ 17-game winning streak.

The Bainbridge High varsity team will, however, continue to advance in the District playoffs with the potential to advance to the State tournmaent later this month.

O’Dea scored first Thursday, though BHS evened things up for a time in the second inning.

Ultimately, though, the Spartans were unable to get a break at the plate and could not surmount the slight score deficit, and the Fighting Irish scraped through.
