SEATTLE – Bainbridge won its first Metro League game of the season in girls varsity volleyball — and their second in a row — after the Spartans stopped the Seahawks in three straight sets earlier this week.

Bainbridge won 3-0 against Chief Sealth in the Metro matchup Tuesday, the second road game in a row for the Spartans.

BHS won the first set, 25-14, and put away Chief Sealth 25-12 and 25-17 in the next two.

The Spartans were led by Maggie Sweeney and Mary Burgess, who finished with five kills each.

BHS was scheduled to play its first conference game on the Rock this week as the Spartans (2-1) returned to Paski Gymnasium Thursday.

The varsity volleyball team will play again Monday against South Kitsap before a much-anticipated matchup against Eastside Catholic (2-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at home.
