MONDAY, AUG. 29

1:38 a.m. A police foot patrol near Bainbridge High School found an outside door propped open with a garbage can on the north side of the gym. Officers investigated, but found the property undisturbed.

School officials were informed.

10:53 a.m. Officers were called to a private residence on Manitou Beach regarding a possible trespasser.

A 61-year-old Vancouver, B.C., man said that he had discovered several open windows and two unlocked doors at a Bainbridge property he inherited. It had been six months since last he visited the home, at which time he evicted a woman from there after she had stopped paying her rent.

Despite being given “ample time” to remove her possessions from the house, he said, the woman had left a great many things behind. Upon investigating the property now, more of the woman’s things had been removed. He believed she had returned and broke in to get the rest of her things. Nothing else was missing or damaged.
