PORT ORCHARD – The Bainbridge Spartans were just too much for South Kitsap as BHS walloped the Wolves in water polo 16-1 on the road.
The Panthers pulled out an improbable win in their Metro League battle against Bainbridge in girls varsity volleyball last week, and escaped from Paski Gymnasium with a 3-2 win.
Those tantalizing thoughts turned out to be fleeting.

The Bainbridge High School cross country team won both the boy’s and the girl’s 5K races at their season’s only home meet last week at sunny Battle Point Park.

The Spartans were unable to parlay their first win of the year -— notched while on the road, against Lakeside — into a second victory, as the Bainbridge High varsity football team returned home to host Bishop Blanchet and found themselves on the wrong side of a 28-7 matchup.
Nearly 100 Bainbridge High School cross country runners (almost the whole team) joined more than 40 other schools last week at the Nike Twilight Invitational 5K at the Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville. Dozens of Spartans set personal records (PRs) despite soggy conditions.
The Bainbridge High varsity girls golf team defeated the Lakeside Lions 105-97 on the road.
