BAINBRIDGE – The Panthers pulled out an improbable win in their Metro League battle against Bainbridge in girls varsity volleyball last week, and escaped from Paski Gymnasium with a 3-2 win.
It was a back-and-forth affair, with each of the first four sets seeing multiple ties and lead changes.
Bainbridge won the first set 25-23, but Seattle Prep rallied to take the second, 30-28.
The Spartans surged in the third set to a 25-22 win, then fell in a nailbiter of a fourth set, 26-24.
Momentum stayed on Prep’s side as they finished strong, 15-8, for the victory.
Sydney Maria led the way for the Spartans with 12 kills and a .296 hitting percentage. Erica Sprott had five aces and 39 assists.
