BHS swimmers win district, earn 17 state spots

Bainbridge won the West Central District 3 Swim and Dive Championships last weekend.

The top five times from the finals earned an allocation to the state meet. Bainbridge won with 330 points and has 17 allocations for state.

Eddie Nakhuda, Sota Inoue, Ian Letson and Jason Geddes won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1 minute, 41.76 seconds.

In the 200 freestyle, Rylan Hopp finished fourth in 1:55.79.

Inoue won the 200 individual medley in 2:01.51, and Letson was second in 2:05.49.

Elias Dean won the 50 free in 22.20 seconds, and Mathias Bang-Knudsen finished fifth in 22.44.

Letson placed second in the 100 butterfly in 55.82 seconds.

Dean finished second in the 100 free in 48.42, and Bang-Knudsen was fifth in 49.63.

Eddie Nakhuda finished fifth in the 500 free in 5:15.04.

In the 200 free relay, Bang-Knudsen, Dean, Geddes and Robbie Nakhuda won in 1:29.

Inoue finished third in the 100 backstroke in 56.02 seconds.

In the 100 breaststroke, Geddes won in 1:03.85; Ryan Rich finished third in 1:05.23 and Eddie Nakhuda fifth in 1:05.40.

In the 400 free relay, Bang-Knudsen, Inoue, Robbie Nakhuda and Dean placed second in 3:14.65.
