SEATTLE –  The Spartans were edged late last week in girls gymnastics against Ballard.

Ballard took first with 148.1, while Bainbridge claimed second (146.65)and Nathan Hale was third (138.0).

Sarah Rice was first on beam and scored 9.1.

Miller Shor placed fifth for the Spartans with an 8.0.

Rice also won the vault (8.4), while fellow Spartan Juliana Hinkley tied for fifth place with a score of 8.0.

Rice came in second on bars (7.2) and teammate Emma Chee tied for fifth (7.0).

Chee also placed fourth in the floor exercise with a score of 8.0.

Rice finished the meet with a second place all-around score of 32.35.
