Bainbridge boys beat Ballard 61-51 in varsity hoops

SEATTLE - Ten points was the difference it took to assure a win for the Bainbridge High boys varsity basketball team last Friday as they defeated Ballard High 61-51.

SEATTLE – Ten points was the difference it took to assure a win for the Bainbridge High boys varsity basketball team last Friday as they defeated Ballard High 61-51.

The Metro League newcomers managed to outscore the Spartans in the first quarter only (15-7), but then quickly saw the game get away from them as BHS proceeded to close the gap and then leave them behind.

Bainbridge dominated play in the second quarter (20-8) and led in both second-half quarters as well.

Oskar Dieterich led the Spartan scoring effort, finishing the night with 11 total.

Lyle Terry, Brendan Burke and Ben Beatie both managed nine points as well, and Trent Schulte and Dawson Gonwick scored eight each.

Dieterich remains the team’s points-per-game leader with an average of 10.6.

Beatie trails barely with an average of 10.5 points per game.
