Guy Richard Gill, age 52, died March 8 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle after a long battle with cancer.

He was born March 10, 1950 in Everett to Rich and Chloe Gill. He was raised on Bainbridge, and attended school on the island.

He worked for Todd Shipyard, Lockeed Shipyard, and most recently for the Washington State Ferries as a sheet metal mechanic.

He is survived by his parents, Rich and Chloe Gill of Bainbridge Island; sisters Gaylynn Dearden and Ginelle McCall; brother-in-law Robert McCall, nephews Devon and Matthew Dearden; and partner in life Melanie Carlson.

Services were held March 14 in Seattle and March 15 at Seabold Cemetery on Bainbridge.
