The snowflakes were so sparse and light that if you blinked too fast, you may have missed them. The first snowfall of the year began to fall over Bainbridge Island shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Tuesday’s snow was not enough to dust a windshield. But according to the National Weather Service’s Seattle office, the weather will remain frigid throughout the week on Bainbridge.

Wednesday, Feb. 5 is expected to be clear and sunny, but remain chilly with a high of 34 degrees. Thursday, Feb. 6 looks to be exactly the same.

Friday, Feb. 7 will be sunny and clear with a rising high of 35 degrees, but don’t pull out your bathing suit just yet as there is a 30 percent chance of snow on Friday night with a predicted low of 24 degrees.

Snow is also likely for Saturday, Feb. 8.

Snow/rain is in the forecast for Sunday, Feb. 9.
