Sierra Club to present employment effects of renewable energy to city council

The Bainbridge Island City Council will hear from the Sierra Club at this week's meeting.

The Bainbridge Island City Council will hear from the Sierra Club at this week’s meeting.

Representatives from the organization will discuss coal-based electricity as it is used in Washington and the state’s potential for renewable and energy efficient growth.

Also in the presentation, the club will discuss potential employment growth associated with transitioning the state out of coal-based energy.

The council will hear from the organization at 7:20 p.m., just after public comment.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, this week’s business meeting has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Monday.

The city council meets weekly at city hall.
