POLICE BLOTTER

Bainbridge Police reported the following incidents:

June 24

11:40 a.m. A resident called to report some sort of a spill in Eagle Harbor off Shannon Drive.

It was determined that the spill was actually an algae bloom, which occur often during the summer months.

June 27

5:21 a.m. A Safeway employee called to report an accident that occurred before the grocery store was open for business.

Another employee had fallen off a ladder when the ladder collapsed in the store.

June 28

1:38 a.m. Officers responded to a vehicle in a ditch on Phelps Road and Euclid Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle was no longer at the scene, but had walked to a nearby residence.

The male driver was 18 years old and intoxicated. He was cited for a minor exhibiting effects of consuming alcohol and negligent driving for driving under the influence of alcohol.

July 1

4:49 p.m.  A driver was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license after being pulled over.

The driver also had a warrant  out for his arrest for failing to appear on a suspended driving charge.

July 2

8:45 p.m. A citizen reported  that his bicycle had been stolen at Creosote Place.

The reporting party stated that he had parked his bike near Pritchard Park and when he returned it was gone. The reporting party described a male as a possible suspect.

9:30 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the area outside of Isla Bonita restaurant on Winslow Way after a caller reported an individual threatening other citizens.

Two male subjects, ages 31 and 53, were located on Olympic Drive, south of the police station.

Both of the subjects were arrested for disorderly conduct and booked in the Kitsap County Jail.

11:17 p.m. Officers responded to the ferry terminal to investigate an injured man.

The man, who was from Redmond, was waiting in line for the ferry when Banbridge Police arrived.  The man was located and he was bloody and belligerent.

The man refused aid at first. Bainbridge fire was standing by, and was eventually allowed to treat the man before he was released back to the ferry terminal to head to Seattle.

July 3

9:38 a.m. A Poulsbo resident was cited at Hidden Cove Road and Komedal Road during a traffic stop when officers discovered that the driver had failed to transfer the title to her vehicle.

3:53 p.m. An officer stopped a vehicle on State Route 305 after discovering the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license.

The driver was the registered owner and was cited for driving with a suspended license in the third degree.

4:55 p.m. A homeowner called the police after his neighbor informed him of trespassers in his Falk Road yard while he was away from his residence.

The neighbor said he spotted suspects in the yard cutting the seed pods from his ornamental poppies.

11:15 p.m. Bainbridge officers were dispatched to the area of Grow Avenue and High School Road for a vehicle collision.

During the investigation the police found that the woman who caused the accident was under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and booked into the Kitsap County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol.

11:20 p.m. Police responded to a report of assault.

A 19-year-old female called to report that she and her 21-year-old boyfriend were physically fighting over her purse, which held prescription drugs inside. The boyfriend wanted the drugs and refused to release the purse.

During the fight the boyfriend grabbed the female by the arms and shook her, causing her to lose her footing and fall down a set of stairs.

The boyfriend then left the residence and was contacted by police as he was walking down the street.

The boyfriend was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for a domestic violence assault in the 4th degree.

July 4

12:26 a.m. A resident reported that her purse was stolen.

Inside was a large amount of undisclosed cash. There are no suspects at this time.

2:44 p.m. A resident from Vancouver was cited after recklessly discharging fireworks from a moving vehicle at a field on NE Bergman Road.

The fireworks had hit livestock in the field after he had pointed the fireworks toward them.

July 5

1:20 a.m. A male called 911 to report a domestic violence assault with a vehicle.

The male then changed his mind about reporting the incident. The officers tracked him down on SR-305 where he reported the assault.

The incident was documented, but no arrests were made due to credibility concerns with the man’s story.
