The investigation of Bainbridge Island Police Chief Jon Fehlman has come to an end, according to city officials.

The investigation of Bainbridge Island Police Chief Jon Fehlman has come to an end, according to city officials.

The results, however, are unknown outside of city hall. The city received the report Friday, Aug. 31, and the final report on the investigation has not yet been made public.

City officials expect to release the report to the public on Sept. 11. The delay is necessary so Fehlman can be notified.

The city launched an outside investigation on its top cop in June after the Bainbridge Island Police Guild accused Fehlman of misdeeds, and union officials claimed Fehlman had violated police department and city policies as well as state and federal laws during his time as the head of the department. The accusations came as part of the guild’s vote of “no confidence” in the chief.

The city of Bainbridge Island hired Seattle lawyer and workplace investigator Rebecca Dean to examine the guild’s allegations after union announced its vote of no confidence.
