WEDNESDAY, MAY 6

11:56 a.m. A theft from a mailbox was reported on North Madison Avenue.

A 68-year-old Bainbridge woman said two USPS packages were stolen from her mailbox sometime between May 1 and May 2.

The value of the packages was $200.

MONDAY, MAY 11

10:08 a.m. A Bainbridge parks employee reported a case of malicious mischief.

An unknown person destroyed the door handle and lock on an outdoor park restroom at Gazzam Lake Nature Preserve Trail Head on Deerpath Lane.

The vandalism occurred sometime between Friday evening and Monday morning. The building wasn’t locked or closed, so there was no known reason for the damage.

7:39 p.m. A 58-year-old Bainbridge man told police someone may have been trying to get into his home on NE Barkentine Road earlier that day.

The man said his son heard someone attempting to turn the doorknob to their home several times around 2 a.m.

The man went outside to look, but nobody was around.

He said he didn’t call when it happened because he didn’t feel it was a big threat.
