Dan Morrow is hoping to retain his seat on the board of commissioners for the Bainbridge Island Fire Department.

Dan Morrow is hoping to retain his seat on the board of commissioners for the Bainbridge Island Fire Department.

Morrow filed to run as a candidate for the Position 3 seat Monday night. He became the fourth person to file as a candidate for the fire department board.

Morrow is a former professional firefighter/EMT who was appointed to the board of commissioners in May 2012. He was unanimously chosen by the board to fill the seat left vacant after Susan Cohen stepped down to pursue a paid position within the department.

Position 3 carries a four-year, unexpired term due to Cohen’s resignation.

Morrow currently serves as chairman of the board.

Other islanders who are seeking election to the board in November include Eileen McSherry, David H. Lynch and Teri Dettmer.

McSherry filed as a candidate for the Position 4 seat on Monday, and Lynch is in the running for Position 2.

Dettmer is seeking the Position 5 seat on the board of commissioners.
