Blair fined $200 by Public Disclosure Commission

Bainbridge Island Councilwoman Anne Blair was found to be in violation of campaign finance reporting laws Tuesday and was fined $200.

Bainbridge Island Councilwoman Anne Blair was found to be in violation of campaign finance reporting laws Tuesday and was fined $200.

Earlier this year, the state Public Disclosure Commission said Blair had failed to timely report four C-4 forms during her campaign for her North Ward council seat in 2011. C-4 forms include information on campaign contributions and expenditures.

Blair was present at the commission’s enforcement hearing Tuesday in Olympia. She told Commissioner Jennifer Joly that the reports were late because her campaign treasurer was out of town dealing with a family emergency and the two did not communicate well during that time.

Joly assessed a $200 penalty, but waived $100 as long as the fine is paid within 30 days and that Blair does not again violate campaign finance disclosure laws over the next four years.
