Bainbridge Police reported the following incidents:

Oct. 13

9:15 p.m. A resident told police he was afraid his estranged wife had left the country with their child. The man said his wife, with whom he recently separated, was planning to fly to Lake Tahoe, Calif., to pick up a car and drive back. The two agreed that while she was gone the father would take care of the child. When the man returned from work, the woman had left with the child and all of the child’s belongings. The man said she isn’t answering her cell phone and is a Lithuanian citizen. The man was unable to provide proof of tickets or any other documentation indicating that she had fled the country. Police then advised the man to contact his attorney to get an injunction to keep the woman from leaving the country.

Oct. 15

3:51 p.m. A woman reported to police that her car had been attacked by a pedestrian. The caller said she was driving out of a Diamond lot on Winslow Way when a woman walking next to her in the lot began to yell at her. She told the caller that she was driving the wrong way and hit the caller’s vehicle with a cloth bag, leaving scratches on the passenger side door. The woman then walked to a white Dodge pickup on the other side of the parking lot. The caller followed the pickup, took down the license plate number and called 911. All leads have been exhausted.

7:43 p.m. Police were called to deal with a possible DUI. As the officer approached the vehicle, which was in a parking lot, the driver tried to flee. As the driver attempted to escape, she hit the car parked immediately in front of her. The officer knocked on the window of the car, but the driver couldn’t find the handle. The officer told the driver to turn the car off, but the driver didn’t understand. The officer took the keys from the ignition and asked the driver for her license. She reached for her purse, put it on her lap and then became confused. The officer asked how much she had to drink, and the driver said she hadn’t been drinking. The officer continued the line of questioning and asked her where she had been drinking. The driver said she drank at home. The officer asked her how much, and she again denied drinking. She was unwilling to take a field sobriety test or blow a breathalyzer. The driver was arrested for DUI and booked into Kitsap County Jail.

Oct. 17

2:56 a.m. Police contacted multiple people at a vehicle parked at Seabold Church Cemetery. Two of the people were taken away for outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The driver of the car received a minor in possession citation when an officer discovered a can of beer tucked into the seat pocket behind the passenger seat. The driver consented to a breathalyzer test and blew a .037. She told the officer that she drank the night before. The passenger in the car blew a .002 and was not charged with anything.

11 p.m. Police pulled over a vehicle heading southbound on State Route 305 after noticing the car’s taillights were broken. It was dark and difficult to see the car from behind. When the officer checked the driver’s license, he learned the driver had his license suspended since June for unpaid parking tickets. He also had an unconfirmed, non-extraditable warrant out of Lake Forest Park for driving with a suspended license. The officer told him to call a licensed driver and he was cited with driving with a suspended license.
