Bainbridge Councilwoman Nassar has baby boy

Atlas Oliver Gibbons doesn’t know it yet, but he has set a new record: youngest person — ever — to attend a Bainbridge Island City Council meeting.

Bainbridge Councilwoman Rasham Nassar gave birth to her second child early Monday, and by Tuesday night Nassar was back at work, at this week’s council business meeting.

In her arms, little Atlas, who was born at home on Bainbridge at 4:27 a.m. Monday, April 9.

He joins father Trenton Riely-Gibbons, and the couple’s 21-month-old son, Mojave Leith Gibbons.

Altas endured Tuesday’s two-hour council meeting like a champ, and his mother got a hearty round of applause from the audience in council chambers when they were advised of the special guest on the dais.

Nassar is a Central Ward council woman who was elected to her position last November.
