The Bainbridge Island City Council will consider filling the depleted ranks of its Harbor Commission at Wednesday’s council meeting.

The seven-member advisory group has four vacancies, and the council is expected to vote to appoint new members this week.

Eight islanders applied for the vacant positions, though one later dropped out. An interview panel of Councilwoman Debbi Lester, Councilman David Ward and Mayor Steve Bonkowski interviewed the remaining candidates, and have put forward four candidates for the council’s consideration.

The finalists are:

George Briggs for Position 4, a two-year term;

Elise Wright for Position 5, a three-year term;

Sandra Davis for Position 6, a three year term; and

Thomas Hudson for Position 7, a three year term.

Briggs works as the vice president of field operations for Ozone International. A lifelong boater and a former Navy sailor, he has lived on Bainbridge Island for 3 1/2 years.

Wright is the vice president of Bainbridge Island Concerned Citizens and a longtime boater.

Davis is a managing partner of ECO Resource Group, and is co-founder of Prepared Neighborhoods. She has previously volunteered for the city as a member of the Harbor Commission and the city’s Ethics Board.

Hudson is the president of Hudson Construction, and is a boat owner who helped organize the Bainbridge Island Wooden Boat Festival in 2011 and served on the committee for the 2013 festival.

Other candidates for the post included Bill Knapp, a Port Madison harbor steward; Jesse Knight, a physician who recently moved to the island; and Mark Leese, who is currently the chairman of the harbor commission.
