Registration is now open for the Write Here, Write Now Conference.

The writers’ gathering will be 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.

Write Here, Write Now Bainbridge is a collaborative writers conference for all levels of writers. The workshop’s proceeds are donated to benefit BARN Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network.

Organizers said the conference will be a fun, fast-paced day of mini-lessons, one-on-one author conferences, and support from a host of local writers.

Participants will experience camaraderie with a dozen or more “Seattle7Writers” who believe that writing (actually writing, not just learning about, talking about, or hearing about writing) is the key to writing well and getting published. Write Here, Write Now is all about writing; with support, with tips and advice from friendly experts, and with the good cheer of a room full of writers.

Over the course of a few hours, participants will learn from four author-led mini writing lessons, and write for four sustained 30-minute blocks, designed to maximize productivity alongside seasoned writers who will offer encouragement, support and advice.

They will also meet one-on-one with an author who will read their excerpts, troubleshoot their ideas, doctor their plots and otherwise help them develop their writing in a private 10-minute writers’ consultation session.

Participants will also have the opportunity to attend keynote opening remarks from bestselling and award-winning authors Bruce Barcott and Claire Dederer.

Furthermore, there will be a silent auction where participants can bid on a future coffee date with a local author.

During the closing, participants will have all of their questions answered in a fun, informative and interactive question-and-answer session.

Participating authors include Kathleen Alcala, Anjali Banerjee, Bruce Barcott, Erica Bauermeister, Lynn Brunelle, Carol Cassella, Megan Chance, Tara Conklin, Claire Dederer, Waverly Fitzgerald, Laurie Frankel, Clare Meeker, Stephen Susco, Susan Wiggs, and more to come.

Local author Suzanne Selfors will be conducting a mini-workshop at the conference.

The cost of the workshop is $77, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, snacks, and coffee.

A 20-percent processing fee will be applied to any cancellations before Sept. 1.
