The gallery presents an artist reception during the First Friday Art Walk with a fun evening of art, food and friends starting at 5 p.m. Friday, May 6.

The waters surrounding Bainbridge Island and the San Juans provide endless inspiration for Johnston’s abstract seascapes. Bold brush strokes and loosely dripping paint combine to capture the interaction of sunlight on the water’s surface. Working with water soluble oils, Johnston uses swirls of color, fluid patterns and atmospheric depth to evoke sunlight and waves at sea.
