Bainbridge-born rocker Isla Cheadle will return to the Northwest as part of the musical duo Purple Crush to perform two shows during the upcoming Seattle Pride event.

Cheadle said that she was looking forward to playing near home again after having been away for so long.

“I am a Bainbridge girl born and raised, and my husband was raised in Kirkland, but his parents now live in Poulsbo,” she explained.  “We met at art school, moved to N.Y. and have been performing dance music all over the world for many years now.”

Purple Crush is set to perform at a time TBD on the main stage at Seattle Pride on Sunday, June 29, and again at 4:30 p.m. on the DJ stage.

“From the depths of the underground to the shadows of the pop world, Purple Crush fights the DIY fight,” reads the group’s official online biography. “This married duo came to be in the Brooklyn club scene and rode the blog house wave into the laptops of hipsters worldwide. Purple Crush twerked and vogued in foreign countries with the release of their EP ‘Welcome 2 EmoClub’ on their own label, Crushed Records, which included the heavily remixed track ‘Shopping On The Dancefloor.’”
