Auditions near for Shakespeare show

Young lovers Hero and Claudio are to be married in one week. To pass the time, they conspire with Don Pedro to set a lover’s trap for the avowed bachelor Benedick and his favorite sparring partner Beatrice. Meanwhile, the evil Don John schemes to break up the wedding by accusing Hero of infidelity. In the end, this wildly hilarious comedic romp turns out to be “much ado about nothing.”

This, the fourth annual BPA summertime Shakespeare show, will be performed at Bloedel Reserve. Run dates are July 8-10, July 14-17 and July 21-24, with a special Pay-What-You-Can Preview on July 7.

Rehearsals are May 2 through July 6 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Roles are available for 12 to 15 men and five to 10 women, from ages 16 to 70.

Those auditioning are requested to prepare a 1- to 2-minute Shakespearean monologue.
