Since Bainbridge kept its momentum rolling, Kitsap County will send four teams to the state tournament.

Central Kitsap returned with the lone district title, while Bremerton was eliminated.

North Kitsap advanced despite a loss, as did Klahowya.

Bainbridge

Bainbridge captured its first state tournament berth since 2022 after defeating Timberline in the third round of the 3A district tournament 5-2.

Bainbridge scored in the seventh minute when a through ball was punched out by the Timberline goalie. However, Vinny Self recovered the ball and fired into the back of the net.

The Spartans had a second opportunity when Howard Howlett IV crossed the ball into the box. A couple of Spartans attempted to shoot onto net but the Timberline defenders flooded the box and cleared the ball.

Bainbridge scored its second goal in the 20th minute when a long through ball from midfield reached Finn Reynolds in stride, and he marched down the field and fired it past the goalie.

Timberline’s first opportunity came in the 23rd minute but Spartan goalie Cooper Harrington leaped to punch the ball over the net. Timberline responded with a few minutes left in the first half on a 20-yard free kick. The Blazers tied the game a minute later on a corner kick.

Reynolds scored another goal three minutes later on a header.

Cruz Piland received a lob pass over the defenders and scored a breakaway goal in the 70th-minute for the final score.

The two teams continued to battle in the midfield during the second half.
