To the editor:

I am dead set against the new development being planned for the corner of High School Road and Highway 305. It seems there was no thought given to the effect that removing all those trees will do to the surrounding neighborhoods. Trees help filter out many particulates and gases from the air being polluted by automobile exhausts.

Every 40 minutes when the ferries unload and load there is an inordinate amount of auto and truck traffic that passes and/or stops and starts at that traffic light adding to the exhaust. Please consider or discuss what this does to the quality of life we moved on to the island for.

Also, where is the traffic plan? This is a congested corner as it now stands. Additional traffic will only create a very irritating situation. Exits onto High School Road seems impossible. What about exiting onto Highway 305 going north? Will the state do something about that?
