Modern buildings are out of place as gateway

Imagine my disgust while reading of the destruction of the Nakata family home and our unique island history.

I am equally disgusted every time I drive to and from the corner of Winslow Way and 305 and see that monstrosity of cement and glass being built over the careless destruction of our island’s history and architecture.

I’m sorry, but I don’t believe having severely modern buildings should be the first thing residents and tourist alike see when they exit the ferry. Come on, does this small and wonderful island need an art museum. No we don’t.

Again I believe greed and deep political pockets have drowned out the voice of the few and followed the sound of constant construction and development.
