establishes crisis fund

During this difficult economic time, the Bainbridge Community Foundation has established the Community Response Fund, a new area-of-interest fund to support and assist local nonprofit social service organizations for urgent and crisis needs funding.

The Community Response Fund began as an idea from a group of nonprofit staff and community leaders.

The primary purpose was to ensure that Bainbridge Island residents would continue to be served by our local social and human service agencies, despite the economic crisis.

Services and programs support, nurture and care for our island residents each day, and this fund will serve as a “safety net” in case a social services nonprofit experiences an unexpected funding crisis that would impact its ability to provide those critical services.

We are pleased and honored to accept founding donations to this fund, and already have three generous contributions totaling $53,000 to establish this community-based fund.

During this time of great need for so many in our community, we are grateful for the hard work, critical support and essential services that the health and human services nonprofits provide.

This fund is here to serve and support those organizations that support us all.
