To the editor:

The city council of Bainbridge Island has just outlawed medical marijuana on Bainbridge Island by destroying all collective medical gardens on the island.

Collective medical gardens have been growing here on Bainbridge for decades without problems. Now the poorest sick, hurt, elderly and dying people will be forced to suffer.

What is the city council protecting us from that they are willing to torture sick people?

If you were in pain everyday, unable to eat because you have AIDS, maybe have a bad case of cancer, MS or whatever, what would you think of the city government of Bainbridge Island torturing you? Why would you abuse the most vulnerable people on our island by taking doctor prescribed medicine away from them when recreational marijuana is now legal in Washington state?

Apparently the people of Bainbridge don’t care who is tortured on this island. It was an unanimous vote by the council.
