Sound Theatre Company presents “The Wild Party” at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 and 14 and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at Bainbridge Performing Arts.

Suitable strictly for ages 18 and over, “The Wild Party” is adapted from Joseph Moncure March’s banned 1928 book-length poem about the excesses of the Jazz Age.

It tells the story of one wild evening and a party to end all parties, as a group of burlesque performers join together for a wild, erotic evening in the Manhattan apartment of vaudevillians Queenie and Burrs, when a newcomer complicates their strained relationship and challenges their decadent and thrill-seeking high living.

Corey McDaniel, artistic director of Theater22, directs this provocative staging with musical direction by Carl Petrillo, and choreography by Jessica Low. Set and lighting design are by the Gypsy Award-recognized Richard Schaefer, with costume design by Candace Frank (Lucia Neare’s Theatrical Wonders).

The production features the physical and vocal talents of an ensemble of young professional musical theatre artists, many of whom will be familiar to BPA audiences.

The cast features Tori Spero as Queenie, Troy Wageman as Burrs, Jesse Smith as Mr. Black, Allison Standley as Kate, DeSean Halley as Eddie, McKenna Turner as Mae, Leslie Wisdom as Madelaine True, Adrienne Baltz as Nadine, Zandi Carlson as Jackie, Ryan Patrick O’Donnell as Oscar D’Armano, James Sgambati as Phil D’Armano, Katie Poor as Dolores, Matt Fulbright as Sam, Justin Carrell as the Neighbor and Sara Trowbridge as Max.

Andrew Lippa’s award-winning score provides excitement and drive for this tale of passions out of control. Sound Theatre Company is renowned for highly theatrical work inspired by language and music while showcasing professional and emerging talent in the Seattle area.
