The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art will host “Taking Off Emily Dickinson’s Clothes: Approaching Contemporary Artist’s Books,” a special evening presentation by visual artist Charles Hobson from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5.

Hobson uses monotypes and printmaking variations to construct images for books and works on paper. His pieces have covered such diverse topics as famous couples who met in Paris and Mark Twain’s imaginary diaries of Adam and Eve.

Come early for the opportunity to see BIMA’s current artist’s books exhibit on display in the Sherry Grover Gallery, hosted by BIMA founder Cynthia Sears. Hobson will be signing and selling books after his presentation. Admission is free.

Registration is required. Visit www.biartmuseum.org for more information.
