Bainbridge Island is looking for a volunteer to fill a vacancy on the city’s Planning Commission.

The person would serve a six-month term in Position 7 through June 2019, then be considered for a full three-year term.

Position 7 is currently vacant following the resignation of Michael Killion for personal health reasons.

The Planning Commission serves as an advisory body to the city Council, and provides recommendations to the planning director, hearing examiner and the council. The commission’s primary responsibility is to prepare, review and update the Comprehensive Plan, which guides growth and development on the island over a 20-year period.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11. Applicants must be available Jan. 14 through Jan. 17 for an interview.

For more information and to apply, visit the city website at www.bainbridgewa.gov and click on planning commission.
