The Bainbridge Island City Council is expected to approve the final design for the makeover of Waterfront Park at its meeting Tuesday.
Designs for the updated park have been in the works for nearly two years.
Earlier this year, the city hired consultant company Walker Macy at the cost of nearly $84,000 to complete the Phase 1 design of the project. Walker Macy is a landscape architecture, urban design and planning company based in Portland, Ore.
The final design was presented at an open house in early May.
The project includes new benches, a picnic pavilion, stormwater conveyance improvements, concrete paths, a terrace with a lawn petanque/bocce area, improved landscaping and a multi-use trail.
The city council will take public comments on the final design after a staff presentation on the project.
The council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2 at city hall.
