Solution needed so art installation won’t disappear | Letters | July 9

I am shocked, dismayed and appalled that the delightful art installation by Garth Edwards is being taken down because someone “complained.”

What makes this worse is that it is happening on Bainbridge Island. I discovered it last week, loved it, and have already taken a visitor to see it. It is beyond me why anyone would be offended by it.

After visiting the site and learning that the problem was that it partially obscured a store’s sign, I am wondering if a compromise could be reached by moving the sign further up on the roof over the store.

If anyone wants to set up a fund for this, I would be happy to make a contribution.
