Islander awarded two degrees at SU

Christopher P. Cericola of Bainbridge Island has graduated from Seattle University with two bachelor of science degrees; the first undergraduate degree is in mathematics with a pure math specialization, and the second degree is in physics.

Commencement was held at the KeyArena in Seattle on June 14 and the baccalaureate mass took place the day before at St. James Cathedral, Seattle.

The new graduate in a member of the Bainbridge High Class of 2011, and he belongs to a family of four generations living on the island that encourages lifelong learning.

For graduate school, Cericola has been granted a fellowship scholar position at LSU to continue his research in Knot Theory and topology.

His course of study will be to attain a master’s and doctorate in mathematics.
