No one was hurt. The woman said she didn’t see the stop sign.

10:40 a.m. A woman who had parked at Safeway came out to find a note on her windshield that said another car hit her 1999 Toyota 4Runner and drove off.

The note had a license plate number, and police went to the home of the registered owner but no one was there. The woman told police her front bumper cover was torn and a piece was missing.

An officer later saw the vehicle, a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder, parked at the high school.

Police came back when school got out and talked to the 18-year-old who got into the car to drive away. He said he had trouble getting the car into reverse when leaving the Safeway parking lot, and that it went forward and bumped the other car.

He said he looked at the other car before he left, but didn’t see any damage.
