Islander awarded scholarship

Western Washington University student Ella Montgomery Harris, daughter of Stephen Harris of Cordova, Alaska and Sheri Marzolf of Bainbridge Island, received the $1,900 John and Marilyn Warner Woodring College of Education Promise Scholarship for the 2018–2019 academic year.
The John and Marilyn Warner Woodring College of Education Promise Scholarship is awarded to minority students who are preparing for a career in education.
Harris graduated from Bainbridge High School in 2017. She is majoring in secondary education and hopes to graduate in 2021.
