The return of a classic

Shawn Hamilton, of Berry Sign Systems of Everett, puts the “&” in Town & Country on the market’s iconic signboard under blue skies Wednesday afternoon. The  signboard was replaced as part of the market’s ongoing renovation, with the lettering and reader board the final phase of the installation.

Hamilton, who’s been installing commercial signage for more than two decades, said the display will look even better once neon lighting has been installed within the letters over the next few days. He complimented the market for making the extra investment in a glowing tube array.

“Nobody spends the money on neon anymore,” he said. “They all go LED. But you can’t get the same look as neon — it’s a classic look.”
