Rowing

Bainbridge Island Rowing competed in the annual Frostbite Regatta Saturday.

The novice boys eight team and the junior girls varsity quad both placed third in their respective competitions, while the junior girls varsity eight took second.

Swim

The Spartan swim team placed fourth at the SeaKing district meet last week, and will compete in the state meet at King County Aquatic Center at 12:45 p.m. today.

The team qualified in all three relays: the 200-yard medley, the 200-meter freestyle, and the 400-meter freestyle.

Individual qualifiers:

200-meter freestyle: Sarah Grundman, Kay Sterner

200-meter individual medley: Tess Harpur, Kayla Estes

100-meter butterfly: Tess Harpur

500-meter freestyle: Sarah Grundman

100-meter backstroke: Emily Sonnenfeld

Water polo

The JV team placed third in state. In its first state playoff game, the varsity team lost to Newport 7-3. The Spartans dropped their second match against Bellevue, 14-5.

In its third match of the day, the team tied with Sherwood, 11-11.

The team faced Shorewood again the next day, and won 9-8. Grant Dunaway and Pollack both scored two goals apiece.
