Girls lacrosse

Bea Sheffer scored a season and career high seven goals as Bainbridge easily defeated Roosevelt 18-3 Monday night at Bainbridge High School.

Liana Olson added four goals while Theo Fehsenfeld scored three goals.

Kelsey Mackin had two goals, three assists, three caused turnovers and three draw controls.

Goalie Maddie Stevenson had four saves.

In Division II action, Bainbridge defeated North Kitsap 17-3 at Bainbridge High School.

Julie Ischer led all scorers with six goals while Sallie Marx and Riley McCormick-Dekker scored three goals.

Marx also had four ground balls and three draw controls.

Bainbridge travels to Marymoor Park in Seattle Friday to play Lake Sammamish.

Boys lacrosse

The Bainbridge boys’ lacrosse team defeated Stadium 13-2 Wednesday.

Jacob Knostman led the way with four goals and an assist. Alex Crane scored three goals while Henry Deery-Schmidt scored one goal and had three assists.

The Spartans put 36 shots on goal, with Stadium goalie Drew Thomas making 23 saves.

The Bainbridge defense held Stadium to just five shots on goal.

Bainbridge travels to Columbia River High School Saturday to play King’s Way.

Fastpitch

The Bainbridge fastpitch team continues to dominate, as it defeated West Seattle 13-0 in five innings Tuesday and Seattle Prep 18-0 in five innings Wednesday.

Against the Wildcats, Hailey Willmann threw a no-hitter, walking two and striking out seven. She also had three hits, with a two-run home run and a double.

Cali Moore hit a grand slam while Caitlin McCormick hit a two-run home run.

Against the Panthers, Katie Raben gave up no walks, one hit and struck out nine.

Clara Dunn drove in three runs while Taylor Greenfield drove in two runs.

Bainbridge pitchers have given up just one run and five hits in its first five games.

BHS hosted Seattle Prep Thursday, but results were not available at press time.

Bainbridge travels to Holy Names Tuesday.

Baseball

The Bainbridge baseball team lost two games this week, as the Spartans were beat by West Seattle 8-5 on Tuesday, then were blanked by Seattle Prep 6-0 Wednesday.

Rion Ramirez took the loss against the Wildcats. He struck out 10. Connor Loudon took the loss against the Panthers as he struck out seven.

Bainbridge hosts Seattle Prep Friday.

Boys soccer

The Bainbridge boys’ soccer team lost its first game of the season Tuesday as Lakeside blanked the Spartans 2-0. Bainbridge hosts Bremerton Friday.

Youth soccer

The Bainbridge Island Youth Soccer Club announced that it has hired Kitsap Pumas goalkeeper Dustyn Brim to be its goalkeeper coach.

“Making the decision to reach out to Dustyn was an easy one,” BIFC director of coaching Ian McCallum said. “Dustyn has shown over the past two years with the Pumas (that) he’s a class guy and outstanding goalkeeper. He has a great reputation for developing and motivating goalkeepers.”

Brim is also the head coach of the Pumas’ indoor soccer team, the head coach of the North Mason girls’ soccer team and an assistant with the boys’ soccer team at South Kitsap.

He recently renewed his contract with the Pumas on a one-year deal.

Brim earned USL Premier Development All-League honors for his play in goal in 2009. He helped the Pumas make the playoffs in its first two years of existence.
