Spartans upend Ingraham 10-0 in girls soccer

BAINBRIDGE – Kamie Coryell put Ingraham on notice right at the start of Bainbridge’s matchup against the Rams in girls varsity soccer earlier this week.

Coryell easily converted a pass from fellow Spartan Jessica Jelcick to score in the first minute of Bainbridge’s 10-0 drubbing of the Rams at Memorial Stadium.

Coryell finished the game with five goals — half of the Spartans’ offense.

The match slipped away quickly for Ingraham. Riley Gregoire scored in the fourth minute on a cross from the right corner from Coryell.

Gregoire returned the favor for Coryell in the ninth minute, when Coryell took her pass and put it in the goal for a 3-0 Bainbridge lead.

Gregoire — who finished the game with a hat trick — picked up her second goal of the evening when she took a pass from Celia Story and popped the ball past the Ingraham goalkeeper and the right post in the 14th minute.

Two minutes later, Coryell scored again (Story picked up the assist) and Bainbridge was in front, 5-0.

The Spartans scored two goals a minute apart before the half. Story scored with an assist from Gregoire in the 35th minute, and the pair reversed roles as Gregoire got her third goal of the evening in the 36th minute.

Bainbridge’s advantage increased to 8-0 in the 60th minute when Coryell booted in another goal (Aerin Amore assist).

The shellacking came to an end with two back-to-back goals in the 75th and 76th minutes.

Sophia Bidinger put Bainbridge up 9-0 after netting a pass from Coryell, and Coryell closed out the scoring for the night, 10-0, off a pass from Gregoire.
