Spartans too tough for Tigers in girls LAX

TACOMA - The Spartans steamrolled their way through Stadium 20-4 to earn their sixth win this season in varsity girls lacrosse.

TACOMA – The Spartans steamrolled their way through Stadium 20-4 to earn their sixth win this season in varsity girls lacrosse.

Bainbridge took control early. The Spartans grabbed the Tigers by the tail and outscored Stadium 12-1 in the first half.

Stadium tried to rally after the intermission, but Bainbridge continued to pour it on with another eight goals to the Tigers’ three.

Ellen Carpenter and Mackenzie Chapman each scored four times for the Spartans.

Carpenter also had three assists, a ground ball and a draw control and finished the contest with seven points.

Chapman added two assists, one ground ball, three draws and two caused turnovers.

Six other Spartans also found the net for BHS.

Robin Hilderman and Sonia Olson added three goals each, plus an assist each, in the contest.

Fellow Spartans Paige Brigham and Sophia Hagstormer contributed two goals each.

Brigham, a senior co-captain on the team, was also Ms. Assist for the evening. She tallied an impressive six assists during the matchup with Stadium.

Kiera Havill and Amy Willerford each scored a goal for Bainbridge as well.

Bainbridge improved to 6-1-0 with the win, while Stadium fell to 2-4-0.
